The notion that Keir Starmer cannot possibly know anything about Antisemitism dismisses the fact that his wife and by extension his children are Jewish. He is not an outsider to the community himself. Not that that is hugely relevant. We all have a duty to call out prejudice regardless background.

I keep hearing opponents of the Terminally Ill Adults (End of Life) bill saying 'it hasn't had enough scrutiny'. This is just untrue. Over 90 hours in Bill Committee and multiple debates in the chamber. It has had more scrutiny than any Government Bill. That is a fact.

I would be less angry about this if, Zack Polanski hadn't positioned himself as a paragon of virtue when it comes to fighting against war crimes. It has become increasingly clear to me recently that, he only cares about those that benefit him politically.

I am bored of people saying that Keir Starmer should go because Mandelson was the wrong decision. If they didn't oppose it at the time, then it is just a cover for other reasons. By all means, discuss these reasons, but can people stop pretending it is due to ethics rather than the distraction?

Starmer's culpability has not changed since the appointment. He appointed Mandelson when he should not have. So, people calling for his resignation now are using Mandelson as a cover for other reasons. It is not about the ethics and morals of the original decision. Stop pretending it is.

Keir Starmer should not have chosen Mandelson, but I do think he is owed an apology for "should have known about vetting" and "he lied about vetting". I also believe that Robbins has been unfairly thrown under the bus and is owed an apology, also.

You could argue that Keir Starmer should resign for various reasons and be well within your rights to do so, but evidence so far suggests that Keir Starmer has, in fact, told the truth.

If you believe that Keir Starmer should resign because it has become a distraction. Fine. But. Don't pretend you are making such a call because it was unethical to appoint Mandelson. I'd wager that if this hadn't blown up in Starmer's face, it wouldn't have been labelled a mistake by many.

The mistake from Starmer has always been appointing Mandelson to begin with. However, if you didn't call for Starmer's resignation at the time, do not pretend you are doing so now out of principle and ethics, rather than because the mistake has become a distraction.

The government has rightly committed £10m extra to protect synagogues, and is leading inquiries into antisemitism in the NHS & educational settings. We must support this work while being unequivocal in condemnation: antisemitism should have no place in our country.

As Chair of @commonswec.parliament.uk I am leading an inquiry into community cohesion. We have heard from the Community Security Trust and Antisemitism Policy Trust. They spoke powerfully about the difficulties facing, and resilience of, the British Jewish community.

We should be unequivocal: attempts to downplay or excuse these attacks by connecting British Jews to the actions of the Israeli government are antisemitic and unacceptable.

Recent attacks on the Jewish community in the UK are abhorrent. It is deeply concerning that British Jews are feeling fear in their own neighbourhoods, having to hide religious symbols and increase security at events and synagogues.

The trouble with suggesting that Keir Starmer should resign over a hypothetical scenario is where does it end? Someone could turn around and say, "how can we prove Darren Jones won't personally freeze somebody's Grandma? He should go". You can't call for somebody's head over a hypothetical.

The Government's failure to dot the is and cross the ts at times, has been extremely frustrating. However, I do not believe it would make much difference if they did. Using budget-gate as an example: Reeves couldn't have avoided that, other than do what the media wanted.

People don't need Israel as an excuse. If they think it is acceptable to set fire to a Synagogue that is on them. If they are unable to seperate their anger at Netenyahu's actions from the rest of the Jewish community that is their problem.
