The Jaylen Brown trade is the 1st time in NBA history that a team has traded away a player who was with them for 10+ years, won a title with them and finished better than 10th in the most recent MVP voting The only other instance where a player received MVP votes was Scottie Pippen (10th in 1998)

Baseball Crowd Source: has the increase in earlier, twilight starts the past few seasons had any impact on the batterās performance? Good or bad? This is when you have all those nasty shadows criss-crossing the diamond. Seriously, somebody out there must know, right?

Aaron Nola has a 6.00+ ERA through 17 GS in consecutive seasons. Players his age or older who have done this are essentially finished. Of the 6 other pitchers to do this, 3 never pitched again in subsequent seasons. The 3 who did pitch combined for a little over 115 IP and negative WAR. Oof

Dan's article is a solid review of MLB's proposal. He mentioned how it does not address the first of MLB's publicly stated interests: balancing revenue among the teams. Even this publicly stated interest is different and not entirely related to its most publicly stated interest: improving 1/x

Before the Phillies tonight, no team had trailed with 2 outs in the 9th and then scored 8 runs to win in almost 40 years. How long ago was it? The 1988 Royals were the last team to do it. And who was pitching against them? Mitch Williams! You canāt make this stuff up. (That was 8/23/88 in Texas)

One of the (many) incredible things about baseball is how well its history is preserved. We know in greater detail what happened in baseball games 115 years ago than in NBA games 30 years ago This makes it equally incredible that folks like

are still finding new players!
