Ok. Holy crap. On this news alone, I'm bumping the IPO meter WAY up. 225% first day pop is the very definition of dotcom bubble stuff... We get a couple more of these?

The nerdiest but honest way to explain iPhone events in 2025: This is how Apple plans to squeeze 1% to 2% incremental growth from a smartphone market that stopped growing years ago. The company is a genius at making money from this kind of dull thinking.

What the heck is going on over there? That's question #1. Question number 2 is: you know how the Metaverse was dropped like a hot potato? Folks said that would come back to bite them in terms of recruiting. But now, if THIS is true... what AI talent would go there?

Watching Bringing Out the Dead. Fascinating as a "light magic "version of Taxi Driver's urban noir. Scorsese encourages the comparison w/rhyming shots. More a short story than a novel (not withstanding that the source is a novel!). Love the portrait of NYC in its last hellhole moments.

Told the kids we were going to Iceland this summer and when elder teen joked we might see Bjork, I laughed. Landed this am. Few hours later we visited a small local record shop. Someone was playing a kicking DJ set. Guess who. 😲 Here's a photo of elder teen's ear, six feet from stardom. Incredible.

Right. It’s like the: you can store your recipes on it from the pc era. AI is all about shaving down the marginal stuff that we’ve done in search for 25 years. And that is powerful!

If, during the "AI is the The Next Big Thing" scramble, Apple had said "we're only going to incorporate it further into our products once it's perfect and has unmistakable utility," they'd be in pretty much the same AI-poor position they're in today except a lot of people would respect them for it.
