Another mayoral forum. Another empty chair where Mayor Frey should be. We’re starting to sense a pattern! At a recent forum hosted by community groups, Frey decided to stay home, unaccountable to our friends and neighbors yet again. Luckily, @taylordahlin.com was there to document it.

Carpetbaggin’ Shelley Madore’s campaign reported donations from GOP donors and out-of-state McDonald’s owners before she reported a single Ward 2 donor. But as she recently admitted to the Star Tribune - she only started renting an apartment in Ward 2 to run against @robin4mpls.bsky.social.

Today Mayor Frey vetoed the Commercial Advance Notice of Sale Ordinance. This policy was in response to concerns about displacement and gentrification. Unsurprisingly, Frey chose to maintain status quo rather than support a community-centered policy.

For 7 years, Mayor Frey has lied. He lied about no-knock warrants and Amir Locke died. He lied and said there were only 27 unhoused people in the city—facts prove him wrong. He even vetoed the Uber/Lyft wage bill after vowing to support it. Minneapolis needs a leader, not a liar.

This rhetoric extends beyond just right wing conservatives. The constant Islamophobic smears by Mayor Frey's PACs have consequences and are putting Senator Omar Fateh, his family and his campaign volunteers in danger.

This is the guy on the credentials committee that ousted me as a delegate for being an “outside agitator.” He lives in WAYZATA. I live in Ward 2. This is outrageous. Ward 2 needs new leadership, stat.

We should all applaud the "bullying" of landlords who try to leverage their power over renters to engage in voter suppression and undermine candidates who support expanding renter rights.

The MN Campaign Finance Board fined the conservative PAC “We Love Mpls” $4k for failing to file disclosures for a $35k donation from the Downtown Council and a $72k donation from the Minnesota Multi Housing Association. If Frey and his allies want to obscure info on donors, we can see why!

Here is my biggest takeaway for supporters of DeWayne, Jazz, and Omar: put up a sign, talk to your neighbors, and DO SOME DOORKNOCKING.

June polling showed Mayor Frey’s challengers with a combined one point lead. 3 months later and that lead has grown. A lot. New polling shows @omarfatehmn.com, @dewayneforminneapolis.com and @jazzformayor.bsky.social now lead by 10 points. In a city with ranked choice voting, this is a big deal!

I need Josh Martin to quantify who is truly the most productive legislator on the Minneapolis City Council. But I suspect it's Wonsley. Two from last week: 1. fees for off duty use of MPD resources 2. requiring public hearing & council approval for purchase of surveillance tech

This absolute _shit_. It's yet another attack on renters, and it pisses me off. Renters hear, over and over, that our voices don't matter, the people/corporations we pay money to know better than we do, that we're not _really_ a part of the community we live in.

In the last 15-20 years Minneapolis went from being a majority home owner city to majority renter city. The wildcard has been higher turnout among renters. Frey’s team blocking access for voter outreach in apartments is an attempt to shift power back to home owners.
