While away we encountered this fine tuxedo cat just outside Zandvoort station. Emerged from the long grass mewing for fusses then followed us all the way up the footpath. +10 for welcoming travellers, -5 for getting a bit stalky, still an overall score of 25/10. @thecatreviewer.bsky.social

I buy expensive fancy nuts in the weekly shop and tell the wife they're for snacks at work. I actually feed them to a family of Jackdaws and crows who I've befriended over recent months. She'd go mad if she knew.

Our 10 year old daughter wrote a contract - adorned in flowers, butterflies, and glitter - that we playfully signed. It gives her the right to have the final say over the name of the puppy we adopted. Signing it was a mistake. She named our puppy Bella Hella Fluffa McFartypants.

Day 21 of posting cool mushrooms every day: The Bleeding Tooth fungus (Hydnellum peckii) has both teeth on its underside and "blood" on its top! The "blood" is extracellular fluid, which is squeezed out when the fungus absorbs water, increasing pressure until the red fluid is squeezed out!
