One of the perks of having small kids is you're socially allowed to be feral again, running around soft play, doing silly voices, climbing stuff, and everyone just thinks you're a "great parent". Dreading the day they grow up and I have to go back to pretending I'm normal.

So it turns out a locked cat flap with a heavy wooden toy box in front of it is not enough to prevent my cat from getting out at night. This is the same cat who will frequently spend 5 minutes batting at an open cat flap in confusion. 🙃

How I'm walking out of 2025

Ugh. I promised myself I'd get a new mobile in the boxing day sales but the mere thought of looking for one fills me with despair. I'd actually rather stick with my phone that randomly crashes when I travel outside of my town than try to figure out what the best replacement would be.

I feel it is important that we honor British film pioneer George Albert Smith. Yes, he helped pioneer editing, closeups, science fiction films, etc. but I think we can all agree that his greatest contribution was as an early trailblazer in the Cat Video genre.
