Two prominent people in tech I know very very well (and know to be brilliant) have come up with polar opposite views on AI. One is all, âItâs powerful and interesting and the negatives are over-statedâ. Another says itâs ruining the world, wonât work and will trigger the collapse of the economy.

MARTY SUPREME is a very good movie. Goes places you wouldn't expect. Intense, but I didn't find it overwhelmingâthe pace works. I've never seen a Safdie movie, so I don't know how it compares. But recommend checking it out!

Itâs clear that for all the hewing and crying against algorithms, many (most?) donât want to do even the minimal work to tune their feed, and when it doesnât show them what they like, they just bail. For all their faults, the Meta platforms seem to give most people what they want most of the time.

OKC is 2-3 in their last 5 games. All those pundits who thought they'd match (or even blow past) the Warriors' 73-9 season, didn't acknowledge just how difficult it is.

For me, in WAKE UP DEAD MAN, this scene is the *heart* of the movie. I still think about it two weeks later. It has no role in the plot nor mystery. Rian simply reminds us all to have grace, and find time, to be there for one another.

Itâs the âseason of love and givingââŚbut this year, doesnât it seem more like a âseason of fear and takingâ? Like many of you, Iâve been saddened by the human impact of draconian government budget cuts and how angry many housed Americans are at unhoused Americans. 𧾠1 of 9

Classic case of loss aversion. White men were so used to their social and cultural dominance that slight attempts toward equity were perceived as "shutting out," particularly for the mediocre whose success was due to privilege, not performance.

I don't understand this argument, and the use of the word 'should.' Some streamers (HBO) mostly drop weekly, and they're businesses, and have evidence that it works for them. Other streamers binge-drop. Some do both (Hulu/FX binge-drops THE BEAR and weekly drops other shows).

I seem to be in the minority of finding ADOLESCENCE to be a simply okay television show, and That Episode to actually be kinda bad, because it plays out as an adult fantasy of how things are, not how an actual adolescent would engage in that moment. It just felt so fake to me.

So there is just no way to have a reasoned, level-headed discussion of AI on this platform (at least, not without way-constraining interaction options, as I've done with this post.)
