I know I keep beating this drum, but 80% of this country's government based problems revolve around the fact we have infinite friction to create literally any social, transportation, or educational programs, and absolutely zero friction to just kill people.

i can't help but think about 10 or 11 years ago when conservatives insisted that obama was uniquely anti-catholic because his administration thought that catholic-led orgs could just fill out a form if they didn't want to cover contraceptives in their health plans for employees.

There is a certain, defined point of wealth at which due to compound interest it becomes basically mathematically impossible to actually lose money. Mackenzie Scott is proof that this amount of wealth is far below $38 billion. Elon is worth $811 billion, 21x more. Bezos, $257 billion, ~7x more

"The rise of extreme wealth is one of the clearest signs of this imbalance. In 1987, billionaires held wealth equal to 3% of global GDP. Today this tiny elite, just 0.0001% of the world population, owns the equivalent of *16%* of world GDP in wealth."

Yeah, Mackenzie Scott is a fascinating case. She is literally ignoring the SOPs of philanthropy in order to give away wealth as quickly and efficiently as possible and she’s still getting richer. At her level it is impossible not to make money. Tax billionaires, A LOT.

Most food consumed in the US is already produced here. We were a net ag exporter for 60 years & only since 2019 net importer, bc we like access to tropical products & off-season produce. Also, we waste ~40% of the food we produce, and use the majority of our corn & soy for animal feed and biofuels.

When we take back power, I do not want unity or healing, I want revenge. I also don't want a lecture on "but that's just like Trump, he wanted revenge." He was wrong, we are right. It's different. Get a moral compass. Revenge or sit down. Call it "justice" if you must, it's that too.
