Midnight is the biggest demonstration that blizz is getting worse and worse at writing a story involving the WORLD of Warcraft Midnight DEPENDS on YOU ignoring the setting, its nations and characters and just accepting it at face value. This is bad, and breaks your audience immersion.

WoW absolutely does have a "cozy game" problem, and I'm tired of feeling like that's a weird take. They are catering more and more everyday to not only cozy PG streamers, but actual children too. The roads are leading to a sanitized easy to swallow world, detached from it's roots entirely.

The way people just feel entitled to play their phones out loud in public, like the concept of headphones doesn’t even exist, is probably the worst thing about contemporary society.

They can’t keep fucking doing this. They can’t keep “recontextualizing” worldbuilding. It’s going to make people believe nothing matters in the story matters, because it’a just going to change later. And then they check out. This is an RPG! People have characters built on this stuff!

I always dislike when new lore gets presented as basically just "this old thing, but SO much cooler!" I feel like this could be fixed with a few tweaks to Li Li's optional dialogue, at least? Add mentions of Shadow Hunters and their importance, or examples of non-Wild God loa.

If A LOT of people are criticizing one aspect of WoW, which is the story right now, there is a reason for it. It doesn't mean they're looking to hate on something, or they didn't understand the story as you did. Criticism is HEALTHY for a live service game that has no end.

With that all said, I do hope Blizzard goes back to normal expansion pacing post TLT. I don't think the pacing of these trilogies is healthy for the game. I mainly hope we return to grassroots, smaller stories that are grounded in Azeroth and aren't constant cosmic threats.

We as a Community need to be very very VERY vocal right now that we do not want the Factions of the Alliance and Horde to go away ever. Way too much fearmongering going on these days. Gush on why you love the Horde, Alliance, etc and why they matter to you so they know.

Generational story fumble on par with BFA and Teldrassil for its undermining of the setting and player investment, and Shadowlands for its writing quality and desperation to rely on your strength of suspension of disbelief to then push miles beyond that.
