I know the hype for a possible Half-Life announcement in an hour or 2 is reaching critical levels, but Valve doesn't always play by the book (barely ever) so don't get the expectations up -too- high. Be excited if it happens, but there has been no tease from them to warrant this level of hype.

One of the upsides of showering elsewhere has been an excuse to go out for additional walks. Granted it is not my favorite route to walk, especially at 1AM, but still good to get those steps in.

In a constant barrage of bad news, both in the world and my personal life, it has become very important to stop and celebrate the small wins. It has been harder than it ever was, though. This week has a lot of loud bathroom leak solving related work being done. Am still very tired from a lack of sleep around that and all the stuff that's happened this year. Really hope that I can shower at home again in maybe a bit over a week (and that the issue is actually fixed). So done with it.

I'm going to have to set aside time of my week to look at things people have been making in player housing. Already seeing some very creative stuff like the below video.

Housing will have shop decor, this has been known since pretty much day 1/the PAX preview/when they literally said it. While the method matters I don't think it is super useful to 'provide feedback' (make angry internet posts) based on a picture of currency. The same thing happened with tendies.

One thing that probably needs repeating is that housing in 11.2.7 is the most "Early Access" thing Blizzard has ever done and the community needs to set expectations accordingly. We haven't really had this definition of early access on Retail yet, so that might come as a bit of a shock to most.

Did a bit of a PTR house speedrun in @meggoart.bsky.social's WOWKEA neighborhood real quick before getting back to work. Pretty smooth experience for me, but appears house moving/relinquishing is still broken when others tried it.

One of Blizzard's CDN hosts (the one on akamai) hasn't been updating with new configs/data properly for about a week now and it's been causing problems and slowdowns in almost all tools I work on. Might not be entitled to a fix but I really hope it gets fixed soon regardless. 🙏

Not super happy with the Dutch election results, it could have been much worse but still too right leaning for my taste, but that is the way the world is going right now. It's going to be very difficult for them to get a working coalition going, don't think they'll make it until next elections.

There is a lot of shit you can talk about the Dutch public broadcaster, but if there's one thing they always nail it's the reporting around live events like today's election coverage. Great design, camerawork, directing, reporters at all the parties and just a top notch production really. Love it.
