Today's a very opportune time for Amani lore lol, apparently they added an additional Zul'Aman lore tablet to the Midnight Lore Hunter achievement. This might be the longest lore book I've seen in the game, with a VERY extensive chronicling of Zul'Aman's history via Zul'jin. 🧵

Also Kol’anji is 100% coming back in for the Amani story in 12.1, they wouldn’t leave the body of a necromancer tribe’s chieftain so cleanly preserved and recovered for nothing.

If you told me a year ago that Zul'Aman would end up the standout zone of Midnight, I would not have believed you. I came into the Amani story in Midnight so worried about how they might mishandle trolls again, but they're handled with more care than anything else in the xpac.

Legacy of the Amani is *such* a good short story, I don't even have words to say how well it starts the Amani story in Midnight. Zul'jarra is easily my favorite character of the expansion so far, I truly never thought that would happen in the elf xpac lol

God, Zul'jarra and Zul'jan is easily the best sibling relationship they've written into WoW. As a younger brother to an older sister, there's a certain unique relationship there that is so perfectly captured with these two, especially with their different personalities.

I'm pleasantly surprised Blizzard had the guts to actually refer to Quel'thalas as colonizers in this short story. It's obviously from a troll perspective, but I figured they would tip-toe around the verbiage to make it more 'both sides'.

I wholeheartedly agree with the critiques people have about the female Amani models, but we can NOT pretend like this is a new issue specific to them in Midnight. Darkspear women have been dainty ladies in cosplay compared to male trolls since the *launch* of WoW lmao

After doing these weekly stories, I think the Zur'ashar painters have become a big redeeming quality of the Haranir story in Harandar. It's such a unique cultural aspect, and I'm definitely going to have my character be one... once I figure out what class best fits a painter lol

Nearing the end of the Haranir weeklies, this one about the rutaani/fungarian conflict in Harandar. I haven't touched any of their side quests yet, so this will be my first proper exposure to this story.

Blizzard following up the "WoW has become Disney-fied" discourse with an animation where a child horrifically disintegrates into ash is a hilarious coincidence, I have to say.

Something I really love about Xal'atath is how she manipulates people by just... telling them the truth. She's never really *lying* to anyone about the events that have happened, but she only gives out very specific information to frame herself as a necessary evil.

All I will say about the current discourse is that you can trace almost every complaint about WoW’s current narrative and tone back to BfA and the backlash to its awful main story. Faction tension, Horde presence, character morality, it’s all in response to the damage BfA did.

Something I actually really love about Domina's design is her total lack of cybernetics, all of her technology is external. It's such a good contrast to Symmetra's prosthetic arm, and how Domina doesn't have to sacrifice anything to profit from her company's wealth.

Reminded myself of this today, the official storyboards for the ‘Take to the Skies’ cinematic from Dragonflight got posted on Facebook. The fact that Wrathion *was* supposed to be in a CGI cinematic like the artbook but was the ONLY character from it that got cut will forever frustrate me lol

Sombra being so terrified at Doomfist’s defeat is honestly the most interesting part of the new Overwatch cinematic for me. Vendetta is 100% playing into the Conspiracy’s hands with her power plays, and I’m so interested in seeing what Sombra does when Talon stops being a convenient ally.

I love Domina and her unique silhouette already, but man I wish Overwatch wasn’t so afraid of older women now lol It feels like we’re never going to get a character like Ana or Moira ever again.

No matter my gripes with the rest of the new Overwatch heroes, my love for Jetpack Cat transcends that That’s my new main right here

Something I love with Alleria's theme, her TWW track has this lovely interplay between these two leitmotifs, like the pull between herself and the Void. In her Midnight track, the hopeful leitmotif slowly turns sinister, and fades until it's full blast on the Void leitmotif.

Unfortunately, miss Housing Belf was caught wearing jewelry with green gems (evil) and summarily thrown into Murder Row as dungeon trash upon entering Silvermoon. We mourn her loss. 💔

Love these canon character cameos in the background of the housing cinematic, the idea of Revilgaz and Nazgrim being casual neighbors is a hilarious concept

I am so happy Midnight is bringing back the mini-raid format for sub-patches, and I really hope they successful. They were such a good way of concluding side stories and continuing the main story between patches in Legion and BfA, and they allow for so much more visual variety.

Really excited for Labyrinths and the expansion of the Delve system into 'mega-dungeon' formats. I am so glad in general that the new systems added since Dragonflight like Delves and Skyriding have become evergreen features to expand on, and not single-xpac gimmicks.

I'm glad there's going to be SOME bits of story content in 12.0.5 this time around, the lack of anything on Khaz Algar really ground the momentum of TWW to a halt in 11.0.5. (Also, interesting that the Voidstorm isn't being held back by the Sunwell anymore in the first pic)
