I still wonder why they got rid of it. It's not like Siege of Boralus where the layout, trash and first boss were different per-faction. Maybe the RP sequences were different enough to effect the timer or something?

Also saying goodbye to the Horde version of Pit of Saron ahead of the changes for Midnight Season 1, complete with my classic mog. I spent *so* long in this dungeon farming for Quel'delar, so I'm going to mourn this one and how much fun it was.

That reminds me, they brought the real Medivh back for a single scene in Legion in the Return to Karazhan dungeon and then never brought it up again that's he's actually still around doing stuff. I hope that gets followed up on some day.

Also, Stonetalon was mentioned!!! As always, would love it if they made Stonetalon Peak a mega dungeon, zone, or raid. Would love it if it featured Thrall & Jaina returning back there. Maybe even summoned by Medivh!

In honor of the old Quel'thalas area being removed tomorrow, I recreated one of my oldest surviving screenshots. First one is from March of 2010 I believe!

The Midnight formula being taking something relevant from a past expansion but not all of it (Northern EK but not other TBC content) and revamping/expanding it while also adding new zones (Harandar, Voidstorm). So a few Northrend zones (maybe like that whiteboard leak) and then a bunch of new zones.

No real news here of substance (obviously, given Midnight hasn't even launched), but the vibes some of the quotes give off shows they're taking it seriously. Don't be surprised if not all of Northrend shows up again/is revamped, though. I feel like the Midnight formula might apply.

That they're willing to give interviews about The Last Titan specifically this early makes me think there's a good chance we'll see the official reveal for TLT at this year's Blizzcon. I wonder how they'll get around spoilers for the end of Midnight since I don't think we'll be at 12.2 by then?

Seeing how wide and stretched out SMC is, presumably to support skyriding, is what's made me slowly sour on the latter. The wide open space design will make more sense for Northrend, but it's hard not to feel like we've lost denser spaces and outdoor microdungeons as a result.

While I'll have more to say about TWW in retrospect later, one thing I've been thinking about that stands on its own is how Undermine gets a bad rap as a "filler patch" or "not being connected to anything" when the situation is a little more nuanced than that (1)

And as an entire region, I think that 11.0 Khaz Algar feels *way* more connected than any expansion since Mists of Pandaria. Which is ironic, considering it is four disconnected underground zones, but it's easily the least 'theme park' a WoW continent has felt arguably *ever*.

In all honesty I would hesitate to fully consider 11.0 as fully the same story as the patch story. The vast majority of our base expansion story besides Alleria more or less vanishes in the patches. Which I *do* think is a pretty significant flaw, even if it was probably needed.

Suramar is probably the best "city" they've done, up there with Boralus and Undermine in places that feel like real, lived in places. It's my one criticism with Silvermoon in Midnight. While an amazing upgrade, it doesn't live up to Suramar in that regard.

5. While i REALLY liked Azj-Kahet and the expanded story, lore and culture of the Nerubians, I was super bummed we didnt do more with them. I legit thought we were getting Suramar 2.0, but we really just bounced after the story and Raid, leaving them to the wayside? Hope TLT picks them up again

I saw something really interesting on the MMO-Champion discussion forum that I haven't seen pointed out (or noticed myself) anywhere else. When selecting a starting zone for blood elves on the beta, they replaced the image TBC Sunstrider Isle with its Midnight version. Interesting.

Cute detail, the portals to the quest areas now have Khadgar's Servant opening them instead of just popping into existence.

And on the other end of the spectrum, we don't actually see any fel-wielding Void Elf Demon Hunters in game, in pre-patch or in Midnight. This is a *lot* easier to excuse with the player just being trained off-screen at least, but it's odd that they're so absent in the world.

Lich Death Knight is such an inspired spec concept. Rather than the obvious "just make it a necromancer" idea everyone, myself included, has had, there's an extra wrinkle to it that I've never seen suggested before which also ties back to their existing abilities in a fun way.

I just had the most cursed idea for a crossover: The New Norm of the North

Something funny about Devourer Demon Hunter: they canonically don't actually exist when they debut in pre-patch next Tuesday. We don't actually see the first Devourer DH until *after* the entire leveling campaign in Midnight, so the player DH is in a story limbo until then.

i think about wrathion's return in late BFA and that one of the popular content creators said they were dissapointed he wasn't really a raid boss, given that hes a black dragon and black dragons are always evil. Not exact words but. Alot of ppl dont see a character to engage/empathize with in him.

It feels like theres a battle between devs who like his character/want to expand on him vs devs who view him as a joke character to laugh at, in the way they often treat gnomes as an unserious silly race. Wrathions the guy we hate and want to punch, like how we all want to kick gnomes, apparently...

There's something really strange about how Wrathion is handled, I can't think of any other character who keeps being added to stories in the beta, then removed, or kept but with his story obviously rewritten to make him less important or notable. Maybe Baine but even he's had this happen less often.

"Looking a gift hawkstrider in the mouth" implies there was a mythological/historical event with a giant fake hawkstrider akin to the Trojan Horse. I need that story told ASAP.

The same appears to be true for the neighborhoods (unless its related to the endeavor being active, but I don't recall this many "Local" NPCs when testing the endeavors in previous builds).

A strange thing I noticed in this build. Outside of a couple quest related ones, there aren't really any Alliance NPCs in the neutral part of Silvermoon. Except for a couple draenei, including these two familiar faces from Argus. Between that and the Nethersent stuff, I wonder...

I don't know if I missed it before, but there's an actual allied race unlock quest for haranir, unlike earthen. It's extremely simple and short (all you do is tell Lor'themar that the haranir are coming to help) but it's nice to have.

Since they've continued the trend started in TWW of using both belf and velf models to represent high elf NPCs, I think if this "elven unification" plot does ever lead to playable helves, it would take the form of letting belves and velves share all their customization options between them. (1)

They've added a ton of "Silvermoon Resident" NPCs in the new build, making the city feel much more populated and alive.

They have updated the Stormwind Silvermon portal NPCs to wear high elf style clothes, but they still have green eyes.

They may not be the colors we wanted, but they are probably the colors we deserve.

Wasted opportunity that they didn't add Undermine Drill locations near Gadgetzan, Everlook, Booty Bay, and Bilgewater Harbor or something akin to it. Kinda like Amidrassil's portals to Kaldorei spots. Also would've been cool if Kezan was a zone too we could finally revisit.

I had a nightmare where my mom asked me to pick up something from Target. I went into the store and the lighting was very dark, like at Blizzcon. The shelves were arranged haphazardly in multiple different angles, all of them filled with toys and nothing else. Screaming children were everywhere (1)

It bugs me that Quel'Thalas is now the only expansion continent that doesn't have its name written on the map.
