Seattle Mayor Bruce Harrell just conceded to progressive challenger Katie Wilson at a ceremony at City Hall. Wilson won by about 2,000 votes in a close race.

Nearly 1,100 days after safety advocates painted a guerrilla crosswalk at Harvard Ave E and E Olive Way (and SDOT washed it off), there is now a permanent crosswalk here.

You know Seattle has some gaps in its micromobilty wayfinding when the Downtown Seattle Association’s PSA on good scooter etiquette has them riding the wrong direction in multiple places. Still, much appreciated, and I’d love for this video to play before each Lime session starts.

The number of curable ballots from Seattle has edged downward a little since midday yesterday. There's now just over 1,700 curable ballots, which still skew younger.

There's still a lot of curable ballots from Seattle (about 1,800). Most are unsigned or signature mismatches, and most skew younger.

I just saw a driver nearly hit a pedestrian in the crosswalk at Pike & Melrose. SDOT knows this is a hazard, and is a great example of where prioritizing graffiti abatement over safety shows the city budget priorities are upside down. @alexis4seattle.bsky.social please help prioritize safety.

It would be great if @seattledot.bsky.social graffiti removal crews didn’t block a major bike arterial without signage or detours. What training or policy changes do we need to stop this willful disregard of people’s mobility and safety? Or, is graffiti removal a higher priority?

@seattledot.bsky.social I love seeing the planned traffic calming and safety improvements planned at E Pike & Harvard! 🙏 While you are at it, can you add physical daylighting the the NW corner as well? This is a frequent spot for illegal parking and creates a visibility hazard.

Anyone know why @seattledot.bsky.social is planning on removing dozens of mature street trees along Alaskan Way as part of the Elliot Bay Connections Project? Even if replacing them 3 to 1 with younger trees it’s a tragedy, when we have to wait a couple generations to regain what we already have.

this bike lane has been blocked for two weeks. it has been reported many times by many people by the Find It Fix It app and by phone. I bet if it was a car lane @seattledot.bsky.social would have fixed it by now

There’s a lot of great stuff in this video about protected intersections. Seattle needs intersections that are designed to prioritize safe pedestrian and bike crossings, and I hope @seattledot.bsky.social will take notes.

It's driver behavior wishcasting to put up a stop here on red sign 150 feet from the light. Either Wall St needs to be made one way eastbound or there needs to be another light prior to the tracks.

@seattledot.bsky.social Alaskan Way & Wall St desperately needs NTOR signs to ensure drivers are not blocking pedestrians and cutting off cyclists. This is a predicable hazard and I’m astonished it wasn’t installed as part of the Alaskan Way Safety Project. Please install for all of Alaskan ASAP.

Every time I go through LA’s 7th St/Metro Center station I think this is what an ST3 Westlake station should become. Very similar configuration. They would have to dig 5th Ave very deep to add a 3rd basement level directly under the ‘wings’ but the super convenient transfers would be worth it.

Although we disagree with the conclusions from SDOT's traffic study, its traffic counts were very eye-opening: • Over 3 times as many people use Denny Way to access areas east of I-5 than to access I-5 S • Of the people continuing east, 35% do so in a car, 34% in a Route 8 bus, and 31% on foot

@seattledot.bsky.social I’m dumbfounded how time and money was spent to rebuild the 1920s curb geometry at E Olive Way & Bellevue Ave. Not adding curb extensions to slow down drivers and shorten crossing is a failure, and the new wide flat curb on the NE corner is actively less safe than it was.

@seattledot.bsky.social please install official micromobilty parking at E Pike & Melrose Ave. This area has long needed it, and without it we constantly see bike lanes and sidewalks obstructed with bike & scooter share vehicles.

@seattledot.bsky.social the planned micromobilty parking on the west side of 12th & Union takes up a ton of space on the bus island, and may interfere with bus loading and unloading (particularly for ADA access). Can you find another location nearby? The NW corner of 12th & Union has tons of space.

Not all hero’s wear capes! I see vehicles on the tracks at Alaskan & Wall regularly, and I’ve seen many close calls. @seattledot.bsky.social needs to rethink the traffic patterns for cruise ship loading. Closing Wall before the tracks and directing cruise vehicles via Broad would be an easy fix.

It was only a matter of time before a driver turned onto Union between 11th & 12th not realizing it was dead end, immediately do a U-Turn, and drive out using the bike lane. @seattledot.bsky.social please harden the bike butter here to prevent this.

@seattledot.bsky.social I’m hearing tons of concerns about the new eastbound diagonal bike crossing at 11th & Union. It needs large curb extensions to daylight the intersection and prevent drivers cutting the corner. A bike box in front of the setback vehicle stop bar would ensure predictable ROW.
