I recently found out I have something called calcific tendinitis in one of my hands as a result of how hard I worked on my graphic novels So it’s pretty personal. I do take it personally when Idea Guys try and circumvent human involvement in art and the responsibility they have to their artists.

I recently saw someone refer to “kill your darlings” as meaning to literally kill your characters in the narrative. It means you have to be willing to let go of your favorite most precious Idea, because sometimes our First Ideas aren’t what’s best for our overall story.
