Thanks Anup! Indeed, everybody searched for a TGN receptor to sort proinsulin into secretory granules, since Orci’s Banting lecture in 1981, none found! There is a river of proinsulin flowing into the TGN, mechanisms must exist to prevent unprocessed insulin to be secreted 😉 new avenues to explore 😀

Great post to kickstart on Bsky! Inceptor was a tough one for #Massspec. Together with Sem Tamara we showed, among others, that #inceptor ectodomain binds #insulin and pro-insulin at low pH. Maybe #XL-MS will tell us where? 🙃 Thanks @heikolickert.bsky.social for involving us on this milestone :)
