Still working out if I'll be migrating fully to bluesky, but it's looking more likely. I guess we'll see how uptake is among my friends, since I mostly use microblog sites for funny reposts, and keeping up with others.

There is a prison of judgment and success-chasing most artists get heaved into at an early age and can take a lifetime to get free from. You gotta understand that the process—not the product!—is the thing. Others are entertained as a byproduct of you attending to rituals you construct for yourself.

Everyone is getting upset about the data centers. They pollute a lot and use a lot of energy and will eventually be very ugly/huge vacant buildings. And I understand being mad about that. Until you consider the state of the lazer tag industry at this moment, and how much help that sector needs.

pretty funny in retrospect that QAnon hinged on the idea that powerful elites at the highest levels of government were smart enough to talk in code when sending emails to each other about their despicable crimes

R/aitubers is all the entitlement of NewTubers but exclusively for people openly churning out slop. “I’ve automated 2-4 videos daily, zero human intervention, I spend a half hour a week working on this, why am I not getting paid yet?”

It’s a well-known thing that “Alberta sovereignty” is a fake issue leveraged by American corporate interests and various other political vandals, but it’ll be nice to see a number put to the issue when one of said vandals is the Premiere.

Chatbots — LLMs — do not know facts and are not designed to be able to accurately answer factual questions. They are designed to find and mimic patterns of words, probabilistically. When they’re “right” it’s because correct things are often written down, so those patterns are frequent. That’s all.

The road here was paved by the last few years of cultural persecution from the right and a cowardly abandonment by the Democratic establishment, who ignored so many warnings. Imperative that we loudly defend our trans siblings, and begin to organize together towards building safety and equality.

The pitch is never that AI will fold the laundry for us, it's always that AI will remove the good stuff from our lives. Picking a birthday present for my kid isn't a box I check, it's something I want to do, and six months later when that's the stuffy she sleeps with I get to feel good about that.

I really wish I could describe GenZ what it felt like growing up in a miracle. My grandfather on my mother's side was a dentist. He had a grand encyclopedia collection and it was just this incredible thing. You could pick up a random book and go to a random page and just be regaled with information
