you could make an ad like this made by actual humans that goes viral and gets making of press coverage or you could put out AI slop like mcdonalds that everyone hates and still have the team whining how brutally hard it was and how long it took while also feeling creatively unfulfilled tough choice

I’ll be honest, ADHD was not where I saw TERFs headed next. I mean, I knew they were always gonna go after somebody, trans people were always the thin end of the wedge, but of all the bigotry available to choose from, we’re awfully niche.

Honestly the part of this that I really hope more people recognize is the foot stuff. There's nothing wrong with having a thing for feet, ain't my thing but have fun! But when you're a director who is KNOWN for having one, has a history of abusing his power, and shoves them into MANY of his films...

One of the biggest drivers of high housing costs is that a small, highly motivated group of incumbent homeowners block new housing in their neighborhoods and almost no one is organized to push back. Young people bear the brunt of that imbalance. Be a housing fan.

I was trying to not ultra-nerd on *why* the enormous birds were staying out of it this time. But yeah, they're actually semi-divine giant birds and don't airmail the Ring for the same reason Gandalf doesn't exchange fireballs with Sauron.

*handwaves* I know it’s just a side conversation but there’s more to it, actually. (Ladida, eagles as spirits of Manwe, the Valar not actively interfering in mortal affairs, the eagles as longlived as ents and thus nearly as similarly removed, them being Maia and probably too powerful for the Ring…)

Fascists always embrace pseudoscience and snake oil and woo and quacks, because it always first attacks the concept of knowledge and expertise and objective reality. Turns out, shooting all the experts on day one, creates a void for the most obviously ignorant dipshits you've ever seen to thrive.

(I realize this will not convince anyone who is going “ha ha, you can’t tell ME what to do!” or thinks it’s funny when authors go the food bank, but for the people who may have just fallen in sideways—libraries are AWESOME! The taxes are going to them, so make use of it!)

Anybody who is like “Piracy is activism!”—trust me, supporting your local library is about 1000% more effective activism, and it’s still free for you and authors still get paid!

AND supporting your local library is super important! If you actually DO want books to be available to everyone, the library *already exists* and is staffed by the people who are deep in the trenches of fighting censorship! Supporting the library is doing actual good for your community!
