I'm not sure people are aware of just how often someone will yell at me on my bike for seemingly the mere sake of existing. I take so much psychic damage from it and it's directly why bits like the St Paul Saints' "bikes shouldn't be on the road" hot takes get my blood boiling

The worst UI change for Windows 11 is that opening its namesake Window (file explorer) often crashes the operating system. The second worst is that Ctrl+p then Enter doesn't print anymore and instead asks you to change the printer from the default

Sometimes in the world of transportation you'll hear arguments against bike lanes because they don't align with the "user-pay, user-benefit" theory but there are many times where everyone can benefit Transportation is not a zero-sum game Separated bike lanes do benefit bikes, but not only bikes

Saw the improved bike path on Minnesota in downtown Saint Paul yesterday, it's so nice! Im glad they are adding infrastructure to make downtown safer and more pleasant for me to visit and for my retired mom to get her steps in from her condo.

At the Saints game and they are advertising anti-Summit-bike-lane, pro-car messages on the jumbotron. Very disappointed, and t was all brought to you by Busch Light, because nothing goes together better than crushing beers and driving

The eye exam is the perfect game design. That big E is a great tutorial that teaches you the basic mechanic. But it doesn't baby you and quickly gets hard as they introduce the small and blurry enemies.

Still close to the 3, so I support this site over the farmer's market. Transit options still much diminished over the Target Center

Best I can tell the county found a way to eliminate the bike path, while preserving their ability to say they haven't eliminated the bike path. Bizarre outcome.

The Como Zoo fought against some of the lots being paid parking because that would "mean the zoo is no longer free." The end result is parking for miles while the displays inside promote conservation

A sight for sore eyes! The defensive fencing around the Nimbus sculpture has disappeared (I think quite literally this morning)! In addition to the old Panera space (unfenced since Holidazzle) it's great to see some of Nicollet's casual public spaces open again.

I was a social security recipient from the age of 12 through 18. That’s not some weird thing or corruption. It’s called survivors’ benefits. You don’t have to know this. You’re blessed if you don’t. But if you’re going to speak publicly abt the program you need to know this.

Context: it's not just the overnight period. Frey cut the hours of the bus lane during the day when city's own data showed it would harm new BRT transit service.

Why don't movies or shows ever tell you when they are sold out online anymore? Vague error messages are often all I get like the website is trying to ghost me instead of hit me with the hard truth.

Sad that Bike and Pedestrian Bridge 9 will be closing for the summer without good reroutes available after Twins games with the Stone Arch still closed. Really need to extend the bike lanes on Hennepin to the county line and onto Larpenteur

I love to call my Senators' offices three times per week and try to cajole them into doing the most elementary political messaging and strategy. This is what it means to be an engaged citizen: leaving a strenuously polite voicemail for a 74yo on a more regular cadence than I talk to my parents.

I bike and take transit to St Paul Brewing when I do go. My mom regularly walks there from her condo downtown. The brewery's old building was off the car-centric Highway 5 instead of the park-adjacent Hamm's building. Why not stay there/move back if parking is valued so highly?

This opening to Broadway has since been closed to traffic and we’re all safer for it on 4th St. Broadway is safer for pedestrians since it’s been reduced to two lanes plus a center lane. Broadway was crazy as a four lane – unsafe for people and cars.

These stories are covered like the victim had an unfortunate, incurable disease. How sad. An act of God. These are stories of people suddenly and violently taken from their families, often because of infrastructure decisions or people who can't be bothered to put the phone down while driving.
