I’d like to ask the AT Protocol experts: Has the upper limit on Blob sizes been removed? According to the feedback I’ve received, files larger than 20 MB are being accepted without any errors. It seems there have been some changes since the recent relaxation of the image size limit.

I'm turning into a panproto.dev apprecoation account. i straight up cant believe it exists, jaw hit the floor when i found out about it.

I think there's a dire need of good designers, UX people, copy editors, etc. beyond just devs to get this message across. People figured out how to use e-mail. There's a human element to technology that can't be ignored, don't let a lack of coding skills prevent you from contributing ideas.

@trezy.codes another gaming related idea: library for writing game mods that allow you to find atmosphere mutuals easily. Minecraft or factorio come to mind. Going beyond friend finding: plus some kind of @stream.place integration -> unique streamer-viewer interaction

@filippo.abyssdomain.expert are there good crypto libraries that are public domain? The only one I can think of is tweetnacl but idk if that’s actually safe to use. Asking because I’m interested in releasing some code 100% public domain for atproto stuff.

I just sent a small donation from within the blacksky.community client and it was pretty easy. It won't push the needle on anything but it's important to recognize and support the work of those that you benefit from.

@gabboman.xyz if there was some way to be able to point a wafrn instance to a PDS hosted on another server I‘m imagining some slick conversion where a normal Bluesky user logs into a wafrn client, it makes the fedi account behind the scenes and boom waf-ized.

if Bluesky is down, try Blacksky.community (you can add it to your homescreen as a PWA). It uses a different AppView server run by @blackskyweb.xyz which means it is unaffected by Bluesky’s servers being down.

@snarfed.org @quillmatiq.com do you have advice / horror stories of what can go wrong for someone trying to build and (hopefully) run a similar bridging service? I’m trying to build a bridge between SSB and atproto and there’s a lot of issues like deletes aren’t real in SSB (tombstones).

@why.bsky.team idk if this breaks the model of atproto but something like your kobini plus @iroh.computer for some kind of sharded AppView that a bunch of individuals could host pieces… I realize this probably gets back to the issues that atproto was designed to avoid though.

@aka.dad kind of random UX question, but if someone was designing an app that was designed for offline first how would you change the design (ex motifs) or UX of the app. For context I’ve been off and on writing small implementations of the SSB protocol (p2p gossip, small world, offline first).
