It is a bit confusing that in atproto your account and identity are two different things. You may have multiple accounts, but only one identity. But you can only have one valid account at a time and that is decided by your did doc (identity).

I've realized I've been telling PDS admins how they can tackle these spam accounts from being created on their PDS, but just realized I never explained that as the end user, YOU can also hide them from your views with @skywatch.blue. Wrote how below.

I just pushed a new version of goat (v0.2.3). it includes a new 'xrpc' sub-command for calling API endpoints in various ways. give it a try!

I think it's worth saying out loud that independent PDSs are not the only ones with these spam accounts showing up. Even Bluesky's PDSs have them as well. It's a whole network problem on open PDSs, and the only way to really combat it is via automated moderation.

I'm never going live down the "It takes 11 steps to migrate an account on PDS MOOver" and at least 4 of the steps that were listed are just the normal login flow when you're not on a Bluesky PDS and another 2 is just the normal PLC flow everyone does 🫠

Took a bit of a break from working on the workshop to get my badge in order. I ran out of time to do a rust firmware on it, but I did write a little guest book that loads records from constellation and shows them on it.
