A specific end of the week shoutout to @chazinsocal.bsky.social - he recently became a Graze user and between hard work and the community pitching in, he's been able to create a *great* Huskers feed - check it out! 🌽

My talk was, “ATProto can be as simple as a websocket”, so I basically went through how to use the firehose, then a simple url swap to the jetstream, and then another url swap to turbostream. I also shouted out graze’s custom feeds :)

shoutout to @cmgriffing.bsky.social for i think the only atproto talk of cascadia js, it was really cool! i hadnt heard about @graze.social's turbo jetstream but it lookd super fun

Great example of how devs can just make up new atproto records and use them in whatever way they want. Worth pointing out that some *other* dev could make an app that displays `app.bsky.feed.post` and `net.anisota.feed.post` in whatever way *they* want. The atproto network is radically open.

I am hyped about this. The ways that ATProto and Bluesky content can escape containment and get out into the wider world is so so important. Having tools like If This Then At to connect to other ecosystems makes that possible!

Now that @graze.social supports Display Name searches I can finally create a feed that filters for "Fran" and its variants. I've called it ✨ OnlyFrans ✨

It looks like @graze.social is very close to what I was thinking of building myself - a Discover feed that actually responds to my expressed interests. Very cool. Can't wait to experiment with it a bit.

Due to a fantastic new @graze.social feature, I was able to rejig this UCLA feed into something I think will be much better! This feed will pick up chatter about UCLA from people who have a UCLA-related term in the bio.

This was an immense amount of work that took many months to totally re-wire Graze from the ground up. Super proud of the team for pulling this off without any big hiccups

Okay!! My KRBK fic recs feed has been updated. Now any thread that mentions both KRBK and an ao3 link will show up in the feed. (Thanks @graze.social and grats on getting the turbostream going!)

If you have PhD candidate or PhD student in your bio, your posts can appear in this feed! It specifically looks for PhD related chatter, which you can help surface using #PhD or other technical / academic phrases. Currently sorted by a mix of trending and new posts. In the future: sorted for you 💕

I can’t overstate how big this is going to be for @skylight.social. We’re leaning in to feeds but building custom video feeds has always been tough because the content is opaque. What is this video about? And Graze just solves this by transcribing all of the video posts 🤯

Feeds thrive on context - and we just added a ton more. Graze now lets feed builders filter content based on quote posts, parent posts, author & mentioned user metadata, *and* text transcriptions from videos! More freedom to our feed builders, and way better feeds for the ecosystem! Lets see a few:

Everyone’s talking about AppViews, app servers, indexes, caches, materialized views, etc etc Uh it’s called a Slice and it’s coming soon @slices.network.

It largely does not use any existing atproto.com SDKs. Lexicon validation, code generation, and OAuth has been written from the ground up and works with community based tools like @graze.social’s AIP.

Great news! @graze.social was hard at work today, and we've shipped our new core engine (OS release soon) - many many things to come soon, but as of *now*, posts are already traveling from jetstream to feeds *60%* faster! Stay tuned for some new features we'll be following up with!

Many product teams are doing incredible work - @graze.social supporting Nick’s work on AIP and now If This Then AT, Roscoe from @sprk.so doing a migrator - but we should want their products to win! Protocol work, infra & otherwise, is opportunity cost so ideally funded & solved together.
