That perspective is this: It’s complicated. Very complicated. And the real problem isn’t the technology, it’s the society we’re all complicit in creating & perpetuating. So what do I, someone who benefits greatly from the accessibility & creative enablement I get from AI? I fund non-AI art.

Basically this, minus being an AI hater.

My perspective on all generative AI art is informed by holding a Fine Arts degree, having been a professional artist, being a published artist in multiple media, having co-produced five albums of a cappella music sung by human, and spending thousands of dollars yearly directly supporting artists.

Lord, no. On the job mentorship is awesome. You just have to have a great mentor who cares more about you the person than you the employee. I mentor people every day in my role right now. We rarely talk about technology or the projects they’re doing at work. We talk about who they want to be.
