Bounce from @anew.social is out! Right now the portability is only Bluesky to ActivityPub (Mastodon and Pixelfed) but it's only now in Beta so their plan is to have it go the other way as well! I'm excited for this portability!

Bounce, first previewed at #FediForum, launched to the public today. Migrating your social media account from Bluesky to the Fediverse, while keeping your followers! Some people say it's the magic long prophetized for the open social web and considered impossible by non-believers! 🙂 But here it is!

Another great new tool premiered at FediForum today. Not just “protocols over platforms” but “people over protocols”. Feeling hopeful again about re-humanizing the social web.

Pluriverse! Pluriverse! Yes! We're getting really close to interop, and I think that's so good. I joined the @anew.social board because @quillmatiq.com and @snarfed.org think about this work so carefully at the social and culture levels as well as the tech ones. A delight to see the work blossom.

The point is not that one protocol will win - it's that the open social web as a *whole* is an empowering movement that should be about people, not protocols. Bounce lets you move easily between platforms. That's a big deal.
