The invite queue is just that, getting in line for an invite. Once you have your invite, when you migrate, and which tools you use to do so, is up to you. We will release a video and a FAQ once our migration tools are ready and when we start sending out invites.

This seems to be working! Tested with a gmail-based account and a more independent service, and both got confirmation e-mails successfully. And the link in confirmation e-mails REQUIRES a tracker to link it back to your signup, so if that button is broken for you, temp allow trackers to validate.

We've adjusted some of our DKIM and SPF records to hopefully ensure more reliable delivery of confirmation e-mails from our @kit.com signup website. Unfortunately there is no way for us to re-send confirmation e-mails, but don't worry, we'll process even "unconfirmed" accounts in our queue!

Northsky will have some planned downtime today at 6pm Pacific as we upgrade our infrastructure to test a higher volume of concurrent migrations with our alpha testers. It should only take 5 or so minutes. ✌️✨

If you are having trouble with viewing our website on Firefox, please disable "enhanced tracking protection" and refresh. This might also solve issues for confirmation e-mails. This is a Firefox vs. @kit.com issue, and something we'll address at a later date via other ATproto apps or our own site.

We had our operational runway DOUBLE today thank to all the recurring support from the community, and a few generous one-time donors. We promise to put this money to good use in accelerating our migration efforts, and steward and save it for operational costs to keep the service running long-term!

Northsky is a separate service running on the same protocol as Bluesky and Blacksky (the ATprotocol). This means open communication between our services, but different management! You can keep your likes, follows, lists, blocks, etc... if you migrate to our service. And still talk with Bsky users.

We just learned of a way to lift rate limits for imports, so we're going to do that! Expect this timeframe to improve somewhat!

If you have a really large account, like REALLY LARGE, it can take a while to migrate. (we're talking like 30k posts and 3000+ media blobs taking around 30-45min) this is because of certain rate limits that are in place to prevent spam and DDOS. but we just migrated our largest account yet!

Alpha Testing is going well! We're successfully overcoming hurdles and moving bigger and bigger accounts. Our tools and PDS configuration are improving, and we're also working on finalizing an explainer video that should help folks wrap their heads around Migration and what it means on AT Protocol.
