Apologies for the unexpected downtime, OVH informed us of a maintenance window which we had prepared for by adding an additional machine for failover. Unfortunately it looks like the volumes took longer than expected to migrate.

@pronouns.northsky.social now has over 270 pronoun combinations! This is a bit unwieldy to handle through liking posts so the pronoun webapp has been updated to include a picker and sync to the profile lexicon! This allows you to choose between 2 and 3 pronoun combinations. pronouns.northsky.app

We had an unplanned outage earlier today. Our service provider when down for 7 minutes, but the relays failed to pick back up new events when our services restarted. We've initiated relay crawls which has fixed the issue, and we're making that automatic in the future when recovering from outages.

Northsky Social exists due to Bluesky Trust & Safety's unequal enforcement of their guidelines and their targeting of the trans community, palestinian community, and more. If you're at risk of having your account banned due to this unequal enforcement, you can apply for immediate migration

The ongoing outage seems to be improving, but the best non-ATproto way to get updates is on Bluesky's status page: status.bsky.app (which itself has been intermittant throughout this outage)

Hey! What's up? We have been very busy these past couple of months, typing, reading lots of documents and generally getting up to whatever the opposite of shenanigans is. Which is why more Shenanigans are in order! April 26th, Sunday, we'll be holding a roundtable with these lovely folks!

Migration process repaired and upgraded! Now there should be fewer blob-related failures, we've added more detailed info about blob uploads, and we've added an "import missing blobs" option if you encounter any missing media. Thank you for your patience and invites will resume shortly!

We're looking into higher than normal failure rates for migrations. If you run into an issue with your migration, please submit a ticket via the support link in our profile. Thanks for your patience as we resolve this issue. Once we do, we'll be sending out more batches of invites.
