This is so perplexing given that Northsky, from what I understand, is largely being created by trans people? I suspect this "controversy" is being created/amplified by bad actors because trans people are successfully creating a safer space for themselves. Northsky, never stop! We love you!

We've been following ongoing discussions about Northsky. We'd like to affirm that we do not support transmedicalism or any other form of identity-based discrimination. All trans people are welcome on Northsky when it launches.

The 2026 #ATmosphereConf is aiming to be about 2x this year. If we hit 350-500, then year after 2027 will be roughly double and we need to start planning a year ahead to secure venues. And! Start planning your 2026 regional confs too! We’re growing and need to plan for it!

Today, we met to continue the work to protect our community. We will keep fighting to build a space where we not only survive, but thrive in the face of bigotry, oppression, and scapegoating.

Yesterday, on Trans Day of Remembrance, the Northsky team mourned those we've personally lost. Our friends, family, mentors, heroes, the ones who we looked up to and love.

can't reply so qrp-ing: this is definitely concerning, given it appears from the screenshot they're using blacksky's app too. either, it's an app level ban but Blacksky is still using bluesky's "appview" backend (the most likely case), or there's something broken with bluesky moderation 🤨

We had our operational runway DOUBLE today thank to all the recurring support from the community, and a few generous one-time donors. We promise to put this money to good use in accelerating our migration efforts, and steward and save it for operational costs to keep the service running long-term!

Northsky is a separate service running on the same protocol as Bluesky and Blacksky (the ATprotocol). This means open communication between our services, but different management! You can keep your likes, follows, lists, blocks, etc... if you migrate to our service. And still talk with Bsky users.
