So now there are two main European atproto providers (PDS and client), one is open source and one is closed source. Very concerned that the EU talks about how important OSS is, and then they pick the closed source one :/

i think the core problem is that the ecosystem was lacking another client that had the institutional gravity to say 'were here longtime, were serious, and were gonna be competing with you on features' without that, the default incumbent trends towards safety (for good reasons)
