AtProto for Grug: PDS = user stuff cave Lexicon = shape of stuff Firehose = big river of all protocol events AppView = app’s own copy of PDS stuff so app go fast That it. Other words mostly noise for most dev.

new data diary! this is the most in the weeds yet, all revolving around our proposed URI structure for permissioned data. turns out you can figure out a lot about a protocol from the uri! as always, let me know what you think :)

Permissioned Data Diary 5: What’s in a Name?
In this permissioned data diary, we dive deep into the URI structure for permissioned data on atproto and use it to motivate a bunch of the larger design.

yes, you can create slop very fast with AI but also you can fix minor UI papercuts *so* easily. the product we're about to release next week is so much better because I literally used it, found a bug, lodged it in linear, fixed it myself, verified it, opened a PR, and the team merged it. repeat 20x

two upcoming javascript proposals i'm really excited about: - module declarations will let you define multiple javascript modules inline within a single file (
github.com/tc39/proposa...
) - module expressions will let you create workers without requiring a separate file (
github.com/tc39/proposa...
)

The nascent HTML-in-Canvas API is exciting to me not because of flashy effects, but because it extends the semantics that the DOM can (tractably) represent — as a tiny example, it's possible to show an element in multiple places, cheaply, under arbitrary transforms.
