v0.95 was the first release on noq, with multipath. We've cleaned things up a *lot* since then. We're now roughly at parity with v0.95 in terms of holepunching performance. Next step is to keep knocking out corner cases

If you're wondering why iroh 1.0 is taking a minute it's because this is the viewer we needed to build to make sense of the logs. And yes, there is a spec for the log format, which we also had to implement Real infrastructure takes time, and we're very, very close

Two papers came out last week that suggest classical asymmetric cryptography might indeed be broken by quantum computers in just a few years. That means we need to ship post-quantum crypto now, with the tools we have: ML-KEM and ML-DSA. I didn't think PQ auth was so urgent until recently.

I have found the lowest circle of compiler hell: cross compiling for x86 from an aarch64 mac, through a docker container.

Got @iroh.computer to work on the smallest device yet. An ESP32 with 4MB of application memory and 4MB of heap. This is a horribly patched version, but nothing drastic, just reducing deps.

firefox has degraded to the point of being unreliable for me 😭 It's been my main browser for years, but with the recent defaulting to DNS over HTTPS everything is just broken & sad & makes me stop to double check if it's my internet connection or just firefox.
