Automerge 3 is here: the heart transplant is complete! Huge improvements in memory usage and (in most cases) correspondingly big performance improvements too. Backwards compatible on disk and the network so there's no reason not to upgrade today: automerge.org/blog/automer...

Time to deprecate & remove wasm32-unknown-unknown. It is basically the same as a WASI 0.2 environment that exposes no components. It’s easy to create a minimal WASI 0.2 environment that implements wasi-random—or whatever—by delegating to the host (browser, etc.). This would simplify many libraries.

An even better solution from @briansmith.bsky.social: you can set an MSRV *just for clippy* via clippy.toml. This will configure a variety of lints to behave as if you were using that version to run clippy, including the collapsible_if one. Back to fearless toolchain updates!

Wrote some tooling for verifying did:plc records from plc.directory (with the eventual goal of creating my own operations). I fetched some random plc ops from the directory to test my code, assuming that all of those would be valid, but I found at least 10 did:plc's that seem invalid?
