If they don't like arcade games, that's fine, maybe just say those games aren't for you. But also maybe don't go claiming that arcade games are deliberately designed to be quarter munching rip-offs because you are bad at Truxton or you accidentally played Double Dragon 3.

I mean its fine if most gamers only just care about popular game or narrative story games. This is more about how maybe those folks shouldn't act like an authority on the history of video games and how things worked when they only play Call of Duty or jump from one Sony Sad Dad game to the next.

Anyway that argument is never going to go away especially as time goes on because video game history isn't taken seriously enough, and besides that, your average video game enjoyer just wants to play New Thing and has no incentive to care about old thing, unless they want to make Bad YouTube videos.

Yeah some of those arcade games are potentially ridiculously hard or broken or unbeatable or barely playable and they ate your quarter and you can't really do much about it. That's not unique to video games. You know how many shitty TV shows, movies, books, and songs exist?
