Mixtape is indeed seriously cool. There’s a lot of small details for sickos that really bring it together. The use of FMV with real-time graphics is neat too. It’s probably one of the most polished UE5 things ever made. More of an experience than a traditional game but a damn cool one.

Man, it's difficult to keep my composure when talking about the negative impacts Gen AI has had on this industry - from shortages, to lay-offs to so many other areas. It really winds me up making it difficult to even discuss. :\ I really really dislike it.

Really wish more games would take advantage of surround sound formats for music playback. I love some of the Spatial Audio stuff we’re getting these days and, of course, DVD audio from back in the day.

So, as expected, Star Fox was finally announced...I'm a bit bummed that it's Star Fox 64 again but it sure does look fantastic and it's the first official Star Fox 64 release to run at 60 fps.

Visiting my folks in the US and one random thing I’ve paid attention to is the condition of their LG C7 OLED. My mom is unable to move (has MS) so the TV is on all day, everyday for hours. There is some minor logo burn-in now and there are dead pixels along the edge but it’s largely in good shape.

It's interesting how internet connectivity has basically ruined the experience of using older consoles to some degree. Booted up an Xbox One S today and it's so darn slow - just insanely bad. Up to date 360s and PS3s are slow too. Yet, you boot a PS2 or a GCN? Feels as snappy as ever.

It has just occurred to me that the Pepsiman PlayStation game is essentially a 3D version of Namco's Metro-Cross! They both even have soda cans and many similar obstacles.

Very curious about this. If you haven't paid attention, Blaze has kinda built the Evercade into a seriously viable little platform with a range of hardware and like 700 games all on carts. New games, emulation, ports etc and all at a low price. It's super cool stuff!

Oh yeah! This collection is super cool. I had a chance to try my hand at localizing the entire UI from English to Japanese - of course I worked with native speaker friends to ensure it came out as natural as possible (and they’re in the special thanks as well). A fun opportunity.

Anyone else kinda bummed by the state of modern cars? Specifically, interior design. I just caught the new generation of the BMW 3 series (via i3) and…it’s mostly just a giant screen like so many others. Really growing tired of this. Design feels so far off for me.

Just wanna throw this out here - I played a bunch of this and it's extremely cool. The battles are super unique and the story telling rules. Great visuals too. I played this on a base spec Mac Mini and it runs perfectly too.

Interesting to see reactions to Crimson Desert - I had a feeling it would be quite mixed but I still found it deeply fascinating and enjoyable. These days, games often feel made with defined “best practices” yet CD feels like it was made without knowledge of such things making it surprising.

I think this video does a good job explaining the viewpoints of the team but I wanted to make sure it was clear that I wasn't feeling up to participate yet thus not in the video. I will share my own thoughts soon but my opinions largely mirror what Alex says in this video! Check it out...
