Losing an entire promised audio track, several commentary tracks, and mixed up disc labels is enough to raise a fuss about. The Dirty Pair Kickstarter fiasco is the gift that keeps on giving, and my shipment is still only processing.

Backers are starting to get their copies of Dirty Pair, and it looks like the promised “ADV mix” of the OVAs with their Music and Effects track is nowhere to be seen. On a set this expensive that we waited this long for, that *really* stings. (Disclaimer, my copy hasn’t arrived yet)

Just got a neat release in: The Philippines-market 22-disc VCD set of (Fighting General) Daimos from MagnaVision with the Telesuccess English dub. Beat up, but these are rare here in the states. (For reference, Discotek managed to fit the entire series on a single SDBD, sans dub)

I have no proof of this, but I want to believe that someone at CR pointed out that they’d likely lose the license at the end of this year and that would open them up to probably all kinds of trouble if they don’t release these and that’s why it’s all coming out now.

Anime mystery of the now: what really happened with the US license to Tactics? ADV licensed it in 2004, then in 2005 “decided to pass” on releasing it. In 2006, MangaUS picks it up and releases it… with a dub by ADV! Was the license revoked? Did ADV not think it would sell? Why even dub it then?
