Dragon Quest 12 party: Tired protagonist who turns into a lizard knight Baymax Lucca's punk older sister

Guessing the lizard person in the DQ12 teaser is the dream form (or cursed form) of the protagonist. Looks like the heroine is a mechanic and there were robots shown so it's going more futuristic than Dragon Quest usually goes - more Chrono Trigger or Blue Dragon.

Well, that was disappointing. The new footage of DQ12 reminds me a lot of Blue Dragon, but hearing that they had to reboot development and they don't even have a release window is disappointing. DQ Monsters games are hit & miss and no footage shown. Appears to be DQ5-themed. Coming "soon."

Decided to give Soul Hackers 2 another shot. As long as you understand that... 1) It has little connection to the original Soul Hackers. 2) Most of your time is spent visiting and revisiting bland dungeons. there's some fun to be had. Great cast, good music, great vibes, solid Megaten gameplay.

I think weapon degradation is good in high stakes roguelikes where you have to constantly utilize your inventory to the best of your ability or risk the end of your run. I feel like it's a mismatch in a slow-paced open world sandbox game.

I can't remember the last time I've seen such diverging opinions on a Nintendo game as on the new Yoshi game. On the one hand, some major sites gave it a 60% score. On the other hand, I'm hearing some people call it their GotY, more creative than Mario Wonder, best Yoshi game since SMW2:YI, etc.

I think the Switch 2 has arguably the strongest 1st year of software of any console launch to date. Great 1st party games, great 3rd party games, and numerous S1 games that run, look, and load better. Lots of variety too.

I realized years ago with PC gaming, that stats don't matter that much. 1080p at 30 fps isn't that different from 4k at 240 fps. Yes, the higher resolution version will look a little nicer and the higher framerate version will be a little smoother, but ultimately, you're still playing the same game.
