Besides making games and ignoring how financially viable they are, I think it would be really fun to just make a multi-purpose JRPG engine in Godot and try to make it user friendly enough that anyone could use it. Include lots of progression system options (traditional, job, sphere grid, etc.).

One of my favorite examples of this is a giant boar monster early in Dark Souls 1. You COULD try to defeat it in a fair fight. Or you could use that Alluring Skull item that you just found, toss it into a nearby fire, and watch while the giant boar charges into the flames and defeats itself.

Remember your favorite creator possibly might be struggling with imposter syndrome and doubt and this timeline sucks.. so if you find yourself thinking “wow I really relate to this persons work” or that persons work gives you joy, you should probably tell them. It’s a hard time to be a creative.

Path of Exile officially left beta and started v1.0 over a decade ago. If you look at the reddit forums now, people talk about how each new league is "dead" in less than a week because they're already farming the uber post-campaign bosses. Their experience is so far from that of an average player.

And FF6 is an ensemble cast, but the two leads (Terra & Celes) are both female and it's one of the lowest ratios. Our magical girl JRPG, This Way Madness Lies, is mostly female-spoken like you'd expect!
