This is why cities need trees. Hard surfaces and parked cars can reach extreme temperatures, while shaded grass and tree-covered areas stay dramatically cooler. This is the urban heat island effect in one image: hard surfaces absorb and radiate heat, while vegetation and shade reduce it.

It was inevitable, wasn't it🙄 Of course the Telegraph would run with something like this👇 So let's remove some of the rose-tinted spectacles and also look at some of that data comparing 1976 with modern heat waves Because the 1976 nostalgia porn is wearing a bit thin at this stage 🧵1/23

#Dispatch
and
#hades2
, I'm torn as to which to put at top of my Hugo ballot. Any pros/cons to each that people can think of? Dispatch is less game but better story but Hades 2 is better gameplay loop but story not hitting as much.

I have been thinking about the prompts left in AI novels and the extra fingers in AI art and what it says about their "creators." Non-writers think writing is all about the epiphany when it is actually about editing and rewriting. Non-artists don't know that art begins with observation.
