The strip is kind of a combination of multiple instances of all of these different things happening. I've never accidentally pulled a paper towel dispenser off the Wall however. It was actually a toilet paper dispenser in a public restroom. But that's a story for another strip! Lol

Heidi will ask me "what's wrong?" when I'm working out an expression due to the weird faces I make, so it was the perfect rationale for making a narrative around the artistic exercise of "drawing a bunch of different expressions". So, what expressions do YOU think I'm making in these 12 panels?

After being reminded of the so-called "Heroic Proportions" being, like, 8 plus "heads high", I decided to take this goofy drawing I did of Toon me vs. real-proportions me and count heads. DANG, pinhead real me is fashionably HEROIC AF! lol

After the previous strip being a smidge on the depressing side, I really wanted to bring this story back to the fact that finding this doll made me EXCEEDINGLY HAPPY! So, a much more positive strip to close out this mini-story arc. :) The sun did, in fact, come out tomorrow. ;)

So, today in Pennsylvania, the weather is THIS strip, but in reverse. I SWEAR, it was in the high 70s/low 80s a couple of days ago, and today... It's SNOWING! WTF, weather!? And to think I thought for a moment about putting my winter jacket away last week. lol

There’s always something difficult about telling childhood stories that require drawing pre-transition me, but this was a story that really required it, I feel. Telling this story and glossing over this part would have been a disservice to WHY finding this toy now was so important to me.

So, this is a rerun, (meaning the ulcer is fine now), but it's wildly relevant as I'm still recovering from what turned out to be a pretty nasty abscess in the buttacological region. It WILL eventually be fodder for the strip, but this pretty much sums up my feelings on forced inactivity. lol

Part of this was originally designed for that National Cartoonist Society t-shirt I did, but as it would have required getting lots of permission, we didn't use it. That said, I had to finish it up if only as fan art. Hope everyone enjoys?

I love taking almost ANY excuse to add a touch of spot color to the occasional strip. Also, “glow in the dark” remains one of my favorite nail colors. It just entertains me when I go to bed and I have learned to keep my hands UNDER the blankets as needed.

I thoroughly acknowledge that this specific strip is little more than an unveiled excuse to do a style homage to Harold Gray's LITTLE ORPHAN ANNIE comic strip. Me finding the doll in the wild was an opportunity to draw this homage that I couldn't pass up.

This year is the 80th anniversary of The National Cartoonists Society, and for this year's conference, they reached out to ME to draw the key art for this year's T-shirt and brochure!!!! I am BEYOND thrilled to have been asked to work on this and be a part of this amazing celebration!!!

I don't use the line smoothing feature when I ink digitally all that often, but sometimes I will ABSOLUTELY "cheat" and turn it up to,like, 20 for particularly big curves that are vexing me. Lol

I really do have a thing about our silverware. There are certain forks and spoons we have that I hate, and actively try to not use because of how they feel to hold. I get the occasional eye roll, but that's life. Lol

Sometimes, the ideas happen when you're nowhere near a notepad or other such means of recording. Thankfully, I have a Heidi. Lol

Felt like crap the last few days thanks to a condition that rhymes with "anal fissure" that had me at the ER on Sunday. (Trust me, this will be covered in the strip. Lol) Today, I am back at work, but moving at about a quarter impulse power at best. Grumpy, exhausted Dee does not put on makeup. Lol

Poe does this every single night when we go to bed. He tucks his head into Heidi’s blanket and swirls and swirls until that 4th panel is what happens. It is adorable and a mild pain in the ass, and needed to be immortalized in strip form. Plus, I will always take the opportunity to parody Dune.

This is only the slightest of exaggerations of how much I hate my fingernails... and why... particularly in the colder months. (Such as when this was drawn, last month. lol)

It is officially spring, and the weather is beginning to get warmer, which means bugs, bees, critters, spiders and all other manner of creatures are emerging. Um... yay? And yes, I do keep a lightsaber next to my chair in the living room. What, you DON'T?

Yes, this is a WEIRD strip, but it’s also an almost verbatim conversation Heidi and I had while Poe was doing this. (The only real difference between the strip and reality is that I was sitting on the toilet at the time. lol)

A weird one that is really just a bonus gag because, once the idea occurred to me, I really just wanted to draw it. lol These little bonus strips are a great venue for such brain farts that aren't really significant enough for a FULL strip. lol

While the first day of Spring is a couple of days off still, waking up to everything covered in snow this morning makes this particular strip from a couple of years ago feel very, very relevant. Lol

This is, admittedly, a WEIRD one. It took me a WHILE to work out, as I wanted to make sure that no panels look like any specific example of any artist's work. In the end, I still ended up LIKING the first two simplified styles. lol

Our previous home did, in fact, have a curtain for a bathroom door, which made moments like this... more frequent than not. Lol
