#SCOTUS
has issued 15 rulings on 17 emergency applications filed by Trump (three birthright citizenship apps were consolidated). It has granted relief to Trump ... in all 15 rulings. It has written majority opinions in only 3. Today's order is the 7th with no explanation *at all.*

There is no possible interpretation of the tax and spending clauses of the constitution where today's tax hikes are acceptable. Congress could not pass a law saying the President gets to raise income taxes whenever he wants to whatever he wants, and it didn't pass any such law regarding tariffs.

One way to read stories based on leaked docs: look at time from being circulated to docs getting published â bc thatâs the amount of time it took to a) get someone pissed enough to agree to leak and b) get enough also-pissed people to confirm. These are slides dated April 29-30, published May 1.

It's getting a lot of attn today. But even before today most of the country had very little idea of what has happened at NIH or through it the entire ecosystem of biomedical research in the US. Simply put, Musk, Kennedy & Trump exploded a bomb right in the middle of cancer cure research in the US.

18F, the federal governmentâs technology shop, was demolished by Muskâs team shortly after midnight. It was a cost-recoverable org, charging agencies for their expertise, using a consulting model. Its cost to government was negligible, its benefits huge. My team there once saved DoD $500 billion.

For sure. Back in 2009 nobody would have argued that the individual mandate was unconstitutional. Now in 2024 it is settled law that presidents are immune from crimes they commit as long as it is an official action, and insurrectionists can run for office if congress doesn't act.
