My favorite way to put this, as someone who studied Classical History in actual college (not just on Twitter): If you told an ancient Roman or Athenian that his culture had "more in common" with a German or Briton than with an Egyptian or Ethiopian, he'd punch you in the throat.

Heat got you down? Try some light climate reading! Here's a snippet from Very Serious Mark Carney's book Value(s). "Actions speak louder than words. Credible climate policies should cut emissions from day one to reduce the end point in carbon concentrations." (p.296).

Ever hear this saying? "It's not the fire that damages the house, it's the fire department putting it out." Simply, if the fire is small enough, the fire department will put so much water on it that the water damage will exceed the damage caused by the fire up until the point it was extinguished.
