Sir John Curtice says Nigel Farage's by-election is like "somebody saying, ‘come on, let’s go and play football’, but then none of the other kids are willing to play"

Zia Yusuf claims Farage is bravely "bringing forward" the judgment of "the ultimate authority": the people of Clacton. Two problems here: 1) He's insisting they judge *before* the full evidence has been heard, not *after*; 2) No constituency can exempt its MP from rules designed to protect us all

By a ratio of almost 2 to 1, people oppose Nigel Farage’s decision to call a by-election in Clacton. Data from YouGov, released this morning.

Nigel Farage is a highly sophisticated, intelligent, strategically gifted, man of the people. And not at all desperate. So he has obviously, thoroughly thought this through.

So, yet *another* unnecessary by-election being misused to boost a vain, thin-skinned man desperate to avoid real scrutiny. This is not a serious country.

A bid for sympathy by claiming the media's going after his family? Or maybe he's jumping before he's pushed? Even if it is the latter, I wouldn't bet against him returning one day - just before the next general election, perhaps. The man's got form, and still has the media hanging on his every word.

The conduct of Farage under minor scrutiny neatly demonstrates the difference between aggression and strength. A generation ago, Tony Benn was treated outrageously by the press and TV but remained polite and respectful throughout. Benn was strong, Farage isn't. (Not comparing their politics BTW)

What people are not realizing about the rescinded red card is not whether it was a good call or not but that Trump called in a favour. Whatever the outcome. FIFA ‘s name has been tarnished and the US team will be looked at as cheaters.

Keep hearing Starmer failed and wasn't prepared for Government. 30 bills completed the legislative stages in the 2024-2026 Parliamentary session, 70+ out of 95 manifesto pledges have been delivered or an in progress. If you don't like him just say that, don't pretend he hasn't delivered.
