If nobody moves tonight, Starmer gets some respite tomorrow during King's Speech. Unlikely there'd be further resignations for fear of overshadowing or insulting the monarch on such a major day. If nobody moves this eve, they are banking on restarting momentum tomorrow afternoon.

Baroness Chapman says Wes Streeting spoke at cabinet, but to discuss policy in his department and the impact of the Iran war. So no ultimatum to PM, it seems.

A Labour minister tells me the situation this morning is “humiliating and depressing”. “It’s bonkers” they say, that the PM is being pushed. You’ll hear from lots today who want him to resign, but others are despairing.

With briefing and counter briefing off the scale it is hard to discern exactly who in the cabinet has said what to the PM. I understand for example that Yvette Cooper did not ask the PM to set out a timetable. Her name was ‘drawn in’ to Shabana Mahmood’s separate visit to PM.

Keir Starmer is digging in. No10 has replaced the PPSs who resigned/called for Starmer to quit earlier this evening.

Quite remarkable that you can mess up a landslide victory quite this badly and quite this quickly. Labour had huge potential to achieve whatever it wanted to. Instead they are going the way of the Conservatives - interminable civil war.

I still think this would have been the master stroke.

On scale of 0-10, where 0 is Starmer's worst performance and 10 is his best speech ever, I'd say that was somewhere around an 8 or 9. He hasn't set the world alight, but nobody thought he would - he was at the upper end of modest expectations. Now over to Labour MPs for their verdict...

The one thing that would reset the whole political debate would be if Keir Starmer announced on Monday that he wanted to rejoin the EU. Reform would have a field day, but he would unite the left and make politics a binary choice between the two.

The Greens have broken through to the Senedd for the first time in history, gaining their first ever seat. Expected, but still an achievement.

One piece of good news whatever your politics - turnout in Wales has topped 50% for the first time since devolution. It has always been a tragedy that elections of such consequence have inspired so little enthusiasm among the Welsh electorate.

Nigel Farage is in Golders Green this morning, where he is claiming that sources have told him IRGC operatives have crossed the channel in recent weeks. He brushes off claims about his past alleged comments about Jewish people and says community can trust him to keep them safe.

NEW: Understand the two victims in today’s attack are both still in hospital. Moshe Shine, 76, is in a serious but stable condition. He had been at the bus stop when he was stabbed. Shilome Rand, 34, was going to pray at the synagogue when he was attacked. He is awake and OK.

Eyewitnesses in Golders Green say that while they were waiting for police to arrive they drove up and down shouting at people to beware of the suspect, as he chased and tried to stab people at random. They say he was deliberately targeting Jewish people, walking past others.

NEW: Video I have seen of the attack in Golders Green appears to show a man attacking a Jewish man, who was wearing a kippah, at random outside of a bus stop in Golders Green. He is stabbed multiple times in quick succession, knocking him backwards.

Only on Thursday last week a prominent member of the community messaged me to say “We are fearing. It is out of control”. The Jewish community has been subjected to rising cases of violent antisemitism in recent years. They fear this will prove to be the latest.

BREAKING: Two Jewish people have been stabbed in Golders Green, the local community say. A man with a knife is reported to have been running around before being arrested by police. The two victims are currently in a stable condition, I am told.
