On Saturday, supporters across the UK marked one year since MPs voted yes to the assisted dying Bill. They came together to thank those who voted for choice and compassion. Their message was clear: this Bill has the backing of the public and MPs, a minority of Lords must not attempt to delay it.

To mark one year since MPs voted yes to the assisted dying Bill, supporters held nearly 40 events nationwide to thank them. As Brighton supporter Alison put it: “Momentum is only growing.” The message to the Lords is clear: it's time to deliver choice at the end of life.

“I am concerned about dying in pain.” Shafaq is a professor of chronic pain, and has stage 4 cancer. She knows the realities - and limits - of managing pain. And amongst the varied decisions she has to make about her care, she wants to make the decision that matters most - about how she dies.

This #RoadSafetyWeek, the Government is preparing the biggest overhaul of road safety in over a decade. With 1,600 lives lost each year, action is overdue. A new strategy with stronger protections, better education and smarter infrastructure is coming in the weeks ahead.

Excellent statement from Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood on the antisemitic Manchester terrorist attack. And a clear message of unity: “…those who seek to divide us, by pitting one against another - they will fail. No act of terror will ever defeat us.”

The ceasefire agreement in Gaza is a long-overdue moment of hope. The violence must end, the hostages must be released, and aid must reach those in desperate need. There is still a long way to go to achieve a lasting peace and a two-state solution but this is an important step⤵️

Today marks 2 years since the horrific attacks on Israel by Hamas terrorists. It will be a deeply difficult day for many. We must: Release the hostages. Stop the bombing. Surge aid into Gaza. Secure a ceasefire and work towards a lasting peace for all Israelis and Palestinians.
