We are saddened to learn Dignity in Dying Patron Sir Terence English has died, aged 93. He brought the same pioneering spirit to end-of-life choice as he did to medicine. He challenged outdated thinking, and leaves behind a legacy of compassion.

In 2023, Maddie shared that having the choice of assisted dying would provide her comfort in her final months. As the assisted dying Bill continues through the House of Lords, her words are a powerful reminder to Peers: listen to the voices of those the Bill will impact most.
