A guiding principle of my life is, "there is no perfection without iteration." You must fail. You must be humiliated in the results of your initiative. There is no other way.

Doing genre research means I had to look into this whole SF vs Fantasy thing. It set me back literal years, reading the reams and reams of bickering and arbitrary line-drawing written over the last 75-odd years. Very little of it was productive or illuminating.

This is not at all a personal attack on anyone. Enjoy what you enjoy. But I find Kojima's work to be morally repellent in a visceral way. I've really tried looking past my issues, but I feel like I'm okay with my judgement. It doesn't offer me anything I can use.
