If your neighbour sets their house on fire for 4 years & then puts the fire out for 4 years & then sets their house on fire again for 4 more years, you probably shouldn't be making long term plans that rely on your neighbour's house not being on fire, even if they manage to put out the fire again.

If Carney is looking for a good reason to not join the Board of Peace other than the fact that it's a ludicrous idea and that doing things to please Trump never actually gains anyone anything even in the short term and also why should we degrade ourselves in such a way, here it is:

Please don't forget that this is also going to be rabid fodder for the Conservatives because the Liberal proposed Bill C-16 includes criminalizing non-consensual deep fake porn YET the government won't ban the goddamn factory churning them out.

Want a lesson in what spinelessness looks like? Look to Canada. We’ve got a government pretending “Canada strong” while allowing a foreign-enemy-run child-sexual-abuse-material-as-a-service bot to continue running in Canada, all whilst abolishing taxes to appease enemy (U.S.) megacorporations.

Not sure those unfamiliar with the geography of Eastern Ontario appreciate how absurd it is Via forced passengers to sleep overnight at the station in Brockville Brockville is only an hour and a half drive from Ottawa. Via couldn’t get buses to shuttle them back? How is there no contingency plan?

If you need to understand what's happening, this farce is a perfect place to begin. A broken, unhappy man is being given a fake award he doesn't deserve by a corrupt group looking to bribe him and earn favors. It's meaningless, everything he wants, and it won't matter to him within an hour.

ChatGPT’s signature writing style is everywhere now, and I hate it. It reminds me of when we tried mixing all the beverages at the soda fountain in middle school. We didn’t actually create the perfect drink, we just made a cloying monstrosity that lost everything good about its constituent parts.

refusing to debate someone, online or irl, about a topic of such moral urgency to you that you cannot perform emotional dissociation and treat it like an intellectual puzzle, is not being “closed-minded,” it just might be saving your psyche and your health for more constructive pursuits.
