Bamboo-based plastic can be made to biodegrade quickly, but still holds up in tough conditions
A new method to produce strong, biodegradable plastic from bamboo is reported in Nature Communications this week. The bioplastic resembles oil-based plastics in strength, shapability, and thermal stab...

The lack of charging infrastructure is, you guessed it, a policy decision made by Donald Trump. Other countries are WAY ahead of the US in terms of charging availability and charging standardization. It's common in the US to go to a charging station only to find none of the chargers operable. 11/x

Ok there's a lot of incorrect information going around on this, so I want to be clear that the problem with the Big 3 and EV's isn't that the Big 3 didn't want to make EV's. The problem, as with so many things, is Trump. I'm gonna do a little thread on this because people don't seem to be aware. 1/x

Meanwhile in England, the only Jewish party leader was accused by the supposedly ‘Christian’ leaders of three far right parties* of antisemitism because he questioned police tactics. The use of antisemitism as a weapon against left wing politicians & Jews is a classic far right trope.

I read a history of early 20th century socialism and it's crazy how much of it is just clubs doing art or reading books and trying to get miners and factory workers to do art and read books.

I’m just floored by the contempt than many in tech have for the humanities. They don’t even try to understand or appreciate what it is we do before arrogantly assuming they can do it better with a non-human machine.

There’s an argument to be made that there should be a path back into the fold for Trump voters who realize they made a mistake, but it seems like a lot of those people are “I thought I was voting for a different kind of Trump” people, which means they still don’t fully understand what they did.

Something else very important to add on top of this is simply that the data centres themselves are being used to VERY significantly worsen the reach, efficacy and spread of the most deadly pseudosciences in existence (through social algos + AI disinfo), and the companies *actively love that*
