In our new issue, Lauren Fadiman describes the Prairieland case: One of the highest-stakes, least-publicized political trials of the twenty-first century, the result of decades of suppression of left-wing dissent.

The Justice Department wants to prosecute âAntifaâ members for domestic terrorism. The only problem? The Antifa they describe doesnât really exist.

This is the thing. I try not to bring up politics with people but I am known as A Politics Guy, and people sometimes ask me my opinion. If Iâm asked âwhy is this Labour government so abysmalâ, Iâm going to tell people exactly why, and I can be a persuasive person.

The moderators of the AskCanada subreddit were so sick of posts that were like "American here, I come in peace, we're so ashamed of Trump, please adopt us, do you still like me Y/N" that they posted a new rule with what I thought was a very well-expressed sentiment

Centrist Americans being mystified by Kier Starmer's unpopularity despite him doing everything they're always telling Democrats to do is so funny. Just the biggest dumbasses around.

The right has always had this problem, their propaganda becomes unintelligible the way any fandom does to outsiders who arenât fully immersed in and committed to it. Fond memories of them running around in 2009 screaming âcard checkâ and âVince fosterâ and normal humans are like, what.

Starmerâs unique inability to do the job he has cannot be blamed on the electorate. The electorate didnât force him to push trans people under the bus. They didnât force him to take days to condemn nakedly-racist policies. They didnât prevent him from resolving policy disputes between ministers.

This piece is another example of how evidentiary standards for covering young people basically don't exist. It's a take on the supposedly widespread and normal use of this language anchored around guesstimates from two (2) people about behavior at a single high school.

One boring thing in free speech discourse is the confusion between the right to speak once invited and the right to be invited to speak. Should Tommy Robinson have been prohibited from appearing at the Oxford Union (he wasn't)? Debatable. Should student edgelords have ever invited him? 100% no
