Minneapolis residents are sick of Frey's failed promises. Housing solves homelessness. Not removing homeless people and hiding the problem. Not criminalization. Not repeating the same failed policies and expecting different results.

Everyone, especially Strong Boy Mayors, will tell you that people are "offered services." If those services are ever adequate & dignified I promise those people are already on the 2-year waitlists and many have temporarily lost their spots because when a space became available they were unfindable.

As people are scattering, hiding, and camping in new spots every night, they are losing contact with social services including the housing lists almost everyone is (and has been) on a wait-list for. We're also using $$ for phone cards so people can continue to access their basic needs.

Mayor Frey, the people you chase block to block are not walking away unscathed. I once again urge the Mayor and his administration to change course. 3/

Minneapolis needs to take a housing first approach to homelessness. Without a well-resourced, compassionate, and resident-focused approach, the conditions for violence in encampments will continue to exist. Tragedies like the one last night are completely avoidable.

This is from the City's webpage about 28th and Lake, which I read as, "We had two and a half months to fix this and we failed completely."

This! There was a mass shooting right on the other side of 35W at Lake the day before Annunciation, and now multiple shootings yesterday. Are they connected? Are there leads? Is there a description we as the public can act on?

The victim blaming in press coverage of last night's mass shootings in Minneapolis is unfuckingbelievable. Every story focuses on city efforts to shut down a homeless encampment. I've read three stories on it—all of which quote officials—and I still have no idea WHO was shooting, much less WHY.

"How do we get The World to quietly kill these people that it would be awkward for us to directly murder" is state policy for a lot of unwanted populations. It's why our southern border policy is designed to funnel migrants into brutal deserts where their deaths won't bother anyone.

After almost 8 years at what point are we able to say we tried it the Frey way and it's not working? Or we have to keep on pretending he's the scrappy challenger waiting for his chance to fix someone else's mess?
