I don't see the upside to protecting the filibuster. A) In the short run, it would pin everything entirely on Republicans, and B) When Dems get the majority, then the filibuster will be dead.  Senate Democrats are conflating arcane parliamentary rules with values.

Trump learned an important lesson here. Nothing will make multi-millionaire, privileged Democratic congresspeople (and their most vocal donors) cave faster than messing with air travel before a holiday. He arbitrarily cut flights, and Dems immediately folded. What a bunch of country club pansies.
