Yes, there are things that make sense to move online. Of course. I'm taking to y'all on the damn internet, after all! But there are so many big, huge, obvious connections between our desire for a purely solo, à la carte existence with the reality of profound social decay and isolation.

Whether it's "Just get AI to do it" or "Just get the private sector to it", the end result is a reliance on for-profit models for things we should be collectively doing for the collective good. When you outsource everything, you remove the friction that builds growth - literally and figuratively.
