A key aspect of AI-Chat delusions seems to be a basic relationship people have with technology. If a human started telling you that you'd discovered a new kind of physics you'd probably be a bit skeptical but there's something here where the fact "a computer said it" catapults you into derangement

To this day it still boggles my mind that there are people out there who will INSIST Evangelion, for example, makes zero sense because they focused entirely on background details and not the very simple things the show was actually saying with its characters.

The sloppy use of the term AI also lends validity to things like ChatGPT because the common understanding of AI is just generative garbage. Scientists designed a purpose-built tool for drug and disease analysis. They did not type "Please make a drug?" into a prompt window and claim brilliance.

trump has the most childlike view of what a president is, but the priorities of an angry old man. sanction a country for being mean to your friend. issue a proclamation that the team should be the redskins again. call up the coca cola company and tell them to tweak their formula.

"How do you make friends as an adult" Consider: you didn't know how to make friends as a kid. You were just forced into shared spaces with people and did what we're naturally inclined to do. Making friends as an adult works the same way except you have to choose the space and go to it regularly.

We need the best educated workforce in the world. We need the best teachers in the world. We need to pay our teachers fairly for the important work they do. No teacher in America should begin at less than $60,000 a year.

I went to the Tate Modern yesterday. In the Rothko room with all the Serious Art Connoisseurs there was a ~5 year old kid who walked up to each painting, pointed at it and shouted 'RECTANGLE' at each one in turn, then left the room.

a thought iβll put out there: it is not the ideological moderation that is the electoral problem, it is that selecting for candidates who chase popular issue positions is necessarily selecting for candidates who exude the kind of focused-group affect that voters genuinely hate
