People forget this but they think this stuff is going to work. They really honestly do. They think the problem with everything is wokeness and if you eliminate that, things will suddenly be awesome. I know it looks like deliberate destruction but I think they're genuinely surprised this doesn't work

Generally speaking if you have read claims of sexual misconduct in the a broadsheet newspaper or glossy magazine, you can assume that they have been thoroughly vetted and that there’s a lot of worse behavior that couldn’t be confirmed.

First day on the job and you want respect? Go right up to the most recognizable and respected guy in the newsroom and have him yell at you until you cry. Then it's time to send him a weepy email telling him how disappointed you were that he did all that. Shouldn't have any trouble after that.

The absolute bottom of the journalistic barrel is people in the media chiding Scott Pelley for having the gall to confront Bilton. If you want a job licking boots, become a bootlicker. You’re not a journalist.

on the one hand, you have men who sexually assault women and treat them as subhuman. on the other hand, you have women who say those men are not good prospects for relationships.

It’s telling how many of the large news organizations who are flush with money aren’t sending journalists to cover ICE (and now state trooper) violence overnight outside Delaney Hall and the independent outlets with far less financial and insurance coverage are braving it.

The Squamish people of what is now Vancouver were illegally dispossessed of their land 100 years ago. They sued, got the land back, and used their sovereignty to ignore local zoning and build 6,000 new homes over the loud objections of nearby wealthy NIMBYs. Now other tribes are getting in the game.

Raising taxes to pay for expanded and improved government services is literally the opposite of austerity politics. Anti-tax leftism has got to be strangled in the crib before it destroys what scant hope we have of ever implementing a social democratic system in America.

South end NIMBYs say they’re “not against development”, they just want density caps in the centre of the city right next to the province’s largest university.🙄 Why can’t any of these surrounding homeowners imagine renters living in such a walkable area without every single one of them owning a car?
