Amazing before/after of a highway interchange being removed in Halifax. This is on the north edge of downtown. The area now looks completely different from when I lived in the city. This interchange was built for an elevated highway through downtown that never got built (fortunately).

A week of walking around a town where drivers treat pedestrians and cyclists like they’re fragile and valuable is making it hard to leave and go back to Halifax.

This morning I walked the kids to school and saw: twelve kids riding their bikes, three kids on scooters (one electric), one parent dropping off two kids on an electric cargo bike, and two parents dropping off single kids on acoustic bikes with extra seats. All in all a very good morning! #bikehfx
